Horary Question: Should I Combine my Marketing Business with my Astrology Business

Lately, I’ve been struggling with a life transition. This transition has been in process since late 2017, but I’m getting very clear messages it’s time to make a more concerted push forward. One of my Astrology teachers describes someone with natal Saturn in Cancer as never feeling ready. My natal Saturn is in Cancer but it opposes a natal Mars in Capricorn. From my understanding of this energy and very related to how I see myself operating, I often race prematurely ahead to get unceremoniously walloped by some authority figure like him. So then I feel more insecure about my process. Our charts are merely a reflection of internal/external patterns. Bringing awareness to these patterns is important because they can help you understand where you get stuck.

My natal Saturn is retrograde in the 9th house and also the apex of a YOD with Neptune and a retrograde Mercury as the two base planets. Neptune is conjunct with my natal North Node in the 2nd house and my Natal Mercury is the ruler of my natal South Node. Mercury is also conjunct with my natal Sun in the 4th house. I interpret it this way: Until I learn to process these roadblocks from a higher understanding, I will continue to get stuck. Once I see these roadblocks as gifts, then I can transform them as such.

After feeling mounting internal pressure between the old me vs. the new me, I asked this question and pulled a Horary chart: “Should I combine my Marketing and Astrology businesses?”. After I asked this question, I understood that it wasn’t about whether I should or shouldn’t, it was more about whether I felt ready to or not. I have been dealing with a lot of insecurity around doing it. Mostly, I’ve been afraid of being written off by people who dismiss Astrology as something that is for lesser mortals. As I’ve been approaching my Chiron return, I realize this feeling is bringing up a lot of wounding around being dismissed by others. Do I have a right to follow my heart? Do I have a right to exist doing so?

I sometimes pull Horary charts for myself, but I have a hard time being objective about what the chart is telling me. So I asked someone in my mentorship group for help. Her name is Kimberly Galvin and she is an Astrologer and an Astro-Botanical Wellness Coach. This is her analysis which has been lightly edited for clarity. I found it an excellent analysis of the chart and it helped bring clarity and acceptance that I was ready. She has permitted me to share this publicly.

Horary Analysis by Kimberly Galvin:

“With Leo rising, you can be described as creative and funny enough, your hair in your photo looks very leonine. Your significator is in the 7th house (the house of your clients), so this indicates you possibly feel like they have the power in this situation, that you’re at their mercy.

But Aquarius is on the cusp of the 7th, so your clients tend to be forward, out-of-the-box thinkers (possibly even more interested in astrology than you realize?). Although Aquarius is ruled by Saturn, it’s not a conservative sign. With the 10th house significator, Mars, also in Aquarius, on the descendant…that has me leaning toward bringing more astrology in (as the 10th ruler can signify the business outcome). With Mars having just separated from Pluto, maybe your business has already gone through the transformation and it’s simply time to step into it (and the interest in astrology is booming, so I don’t see it going away anytime soon).

The moon is in Taurus, which speaks to your fear of losing money/clients (fixed earth, wanting to hold on). The moon’s last aspect was a square to Mars (your 10th ruler), which will then square the ascendant, but again, that could signify the tension between your fears and your career. The moon then translates the light from a square to the Asc to a sextile to the significator of your clients (Saturn) in Pisces (maybe they are leaning into more spirituality/generosity) in the house of their resources. But if we choose to look at the modern ruler of Aquarius, Uranus is in your 10th house, so your clients are already there.

When the north node is in Aries, our evolution comes from doing what’s right for ourselves, instead of sacrificing for a relationship (SN in Libra). And the NN is conjunct with the MC, so I think it’s more than anything about trusting yourself and your desire to blend the two. And with Chiron there, I think some profound healing can come through the blending (obviously bringing in Chiron is NOT part of traditional horary, but it’s so significantly placed that I don’t want to leave it out).

With most of the planets in the western half of the chart, may the blending of the two end up being more client-driven? Do your clients know you’re an astrologer? Have you surveyed your past and present clients (a little market research?) to gauge their interest in astrology? With Mercury (11th ruler) in the 7th, do you have a lot of friends as clients?

So in my opinion, from what I see in the chart, I think the judgment would lean toward combining the two, as well as finding tools to address any fears (life EFT/Tapping).”

To answer a few questions that were brought up in this Horary: I have very delicately brought up Astrology to the clients I thought might be more open to it. I’ve used it more behind the scenes and mostly I’ve gotten interest from the younger people I happen to mentor in the organization. But it’s not so much about my current clients as I’ve been attracting the types of clients I no longer align with. For me, it’s about finding the courage to release these clients even if there is a risk of not being able to sustain myself monetarily. Because only in the act of releasing the old can the new come in.
